Private Training
Private training sessions are tailored to each owner’s specific needs and can modify undesired behaviors such as leash pulling, excessive barking, jumping, aggression, anxiety, and fear. They are also great for first time pet owners who need help with housebreaking or even experienced owners who would like their dog to perform advanced commands. SDPT can also conduct private sessions to help you work with cats, pigs and macaws and ways to keep these animals stimulated and challenged. Sessions typically take place in your home. However, they can be held in any area that will best help you and your dog accomplish your goals. Sessions can be scheduled 7 days a week, at any time of day, to work with your scheduling needs.

Virtual Training Appointment
Don’t let time or distance keep you from reaching your goals. SDPT head trainer Rob Kuty will meet you over zoom or facetime to guide you and answer your questions. This inside look into your environment will allow you the best results when in person training is not an option. We recommend having at least two people participate so one can hold the camera and another person can handle/train your dog. Canine Good Citizen Test at Helen Woodward Animal Center

The above group training classes are a great start for your dog to become a Canine Good Citizen®. Started in 1989, the CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. To view the test components click here.
